2026-27 Housing Applications

First Year & Transfer students: You will receive notification by email when the housing portal is open for you after paying the SMU admissions deposit. Looking for information about living on-campus? Take a look at our Future Residents webpage for helpful info!

Continuing Residents: Deadline to apply and be included in Room Selection was March 1. Continuing students may still reapply after March 1 and will be assigned on a rolling basis by RLSH.

Off-campus Students: Please contact our office for portal access to apply for 2026-27. Applications are being accepted and are assigned in application date order. Assignment could be to any traditional residence hall (residential commons, Smith-Perkins or SMUSH).

Grad students
We do not offer graduate housing in residence halls. Please visit the SMU Apartments website for information and the application.
Summer 2026 Housing Applications

May Term: Students who are currently living in the SMU Residence Halls (Residential Commons, Upper Division housing) may request housing for May Term using this housing portal. The deadline to apply for May Term Housing is May 6. Please note, May Term housing for students who are off-campus or who are living in a Greek House for Spring semester is not available.

Full Summer, Summer Session I and Summer Session II: Summer School housing is available for students enrolled in Summer classes at SMU. The deadline to apply for Full Summer and Summer Session I housing is on May 25. The deadline to apply for Summer Session II housing is on June 28. Please note, a meal plan is required for all summer school residents.
